Sue, your blog posts, especially your conference coverage, are a wonderful showcase of your writing ability. You captured so much of what Conference is and does. It takes great talent to capture and condense so much valuable information into succinct and salient copy. I relived much and got insight into things I missed.

Thanks, Gloria. Ann’s advice certainly applies to just about any kind of writing: What’s in it for the reader? Why should they bother reading it? I often look for inspiration for the lead sentence by answering this.

Whew! There was a lot going on! That’s a great report, almost making me feel as if I’d been there. I like your notes from Ann Wylie. Making things relevant to the reader is always the way to communicate strongly. I like the sample improvements. Good things to keep in mind no matter what we’re writing, I think.
