Your tip on getting Retweets is great Sue. Keep it short. Twitter won't allow you to post a RT if it's longer than 140 characters.

How many times do I try to RT, only to find that it's so long I need to trim it to fit within 140 characters, and still there's no room for my 2 cents. If it gets to be too much work, meh...I move on.

Some great information, Sue. My students and clients will benefit from such candid pointers, as well the CPRS-VI membership. The “@” and RT will be most useful!

Great set of tips Sue. Looks like you've nailed the business side of this - something a lot of us are struggling with. Thanks for sharing. And thanks for the event idea. We're going to gratefully copy the format here in Victoria for PR types.

Thank you for the links to more resources. I'm working on helping our literary agency get up to speed with social media and we are all new Twitterers. So far it has been trial and error with me trying to stay one step ahead. One thing I'm doing is passing one one "Twitter Tip" a day to everyone in the company. A colleage joined in on a great conversation in her specialty with the hashtag #AllAboutAgents and had a lively, informative discussion. She was delighted with the new followers she made as a direct result of the conversation. As newbies to this media, our company already is seeing benefits and making connections. Our goal of course is more clients. I believe we're well under way.
