In case you did not see the news, the world’s oddest book title for 2008 is If You Want Closure in Your Relationship, Start With Your Legs.
The annual Diagram Prize determines the oddest book title of the year. Established in 1978 by book packagers the Diagram Group, the prize is “a joyous celebration of the barmy side of publishing.”
The winner of The Bookseller‘s Diagram Prize received what this British trade magazine calls a record 8,500 votes online. The Canadian connection: the book was nominated by Nicholas Hoare, an indie Toronto bookstore owner. He gets a magnum of champagne for his efforts.
Now there’s a book celebrating 30 years of odd book titles: How to Avoid Huge Ships and Other Implausibly Titled Books, by Joel Rickett.
